My PCOS story
(spoiler: it worked)
I was diagnosed with PCOS at 19.
At the time, it didn’t feel like a big deal — just irregular periods and some annoying symptoms. I figured it was manageable.
Fast forward to my thirties.
My cycles were non-existent.
My energy was gone.
My belly was constantly bloated.
And honestly, I felt trapped in a body I didn’t recognize anymore.
Every year that passed made me feel more disconnected, more frustrated, and more convinced that maybe this was just my life now: unpredictable, uncomfortable, and ruled by a condition I couldn’t seem to outsmart.
But something inside me — call it stubbornness, call it hope — refused to fully give up.
One evening, after another endless scroll through "PCOS tips" and half-hearted Instagram and TikTok workouts, I sat on my couch and made myself a quiet promise:
What if I gave my body 90 days of real, gentle, consistent care?
No crash diets. No 5AM bootcamps. No toxic wellness culture hustle.
Just the basics — done with love, not punishment.
Here’s what I committed to:
✅ I shifted to primarily whole, unprocessed foods — stuff that came from the ground, not a factory.
✅ I stopped eating after 6PM to give my body time to digest and reset.
✅ I moved my body every morning for 30 minutes — walking, yoga, light strength work, whatever felt good.
✅ I put myself to bed by 10PM — no excuses, no endless Instagram scrolls.
✅ I woke up around 6AM, naturally and peacefully.
✅ I committed to a 30-day refined sugar elimination, because deep down, I knew sugar wasn’t helping my hormones.
The first week was brutal.
The cravings hit like tidal waves.
My body felt stiff and weird.
I missed the mindless comfort of late-night snacks and Netflix marathons.
Some mornings, "workout" meant literally stretching while still half-asleep.
But I stuck with it.
And slowly, something shifted.
I started waking up before my alarm.
I didn’t feel like I was dragging a brick around my midsection.
My moods evened out.
My skin started to glow in a way no serum had ever delivered.
I felt… lighter. Not just physically, but emotionally.
Did I get my period after the first 30 days? No. But I kept at it, the 2nd and 3rd month I was 80% - 90% consistent. I cut out all alcohol and made a 15+ ingredient Green Juice Smoothie to help my microbiome reset.

And then — it happened.
I got my period.
Naturally.
Without synthetic hormones.
Without begging my body.
Without that feeling of defeat.
I cried. Right there, sitting on the edge of my bed. Not because I thought everything was magically “fixed,” but because for the first time in a long, long time, my body trusted me back.
My 90-Day Wins:
🌱 Whole foods > processed foods
⏰ No late-night snacking
🏋️♀️ 30 minutes of daily movement
🛏️ 10PM bedtime / 6AM wake-ups
🚫 No refined sugar (yes, even when it was hard)
💧 Prioritizing hydration and real rest
If You’re Reading This Feeling Stuck...
Please know: it’s not too late.
You are not broken.
You are not "too old."
And small, consistent choices do add up to big shifts.
You don't have to overhaul your whole life in a week.
You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to start showing your body — day after day — that you’re in its corner.
Because eventually, your body will answer back.
And that moment? It’s pure magic.
